Concord UMC has a variety of ongoing outreach opportunities.  Learn more about how you can support an outreach ministry in your area of interest.  

Grace Community Ministries (Food Pantry and Clothes Closet): We participate with other churches and community organizations to support Grace Community Ministries, a non-profit organization providing food, clothes and other assistance as needs arise.  Grace is located in McKenney, Virginia, The  food pantry and clothes closet are both open to those in need on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month. Additionally, on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, a fresh and frozen foods distribution is held at a nearby church.

Consider volunteering to assist those coming into the pantry, helping unload and distribute food at the the 3rd Wednesday food drop, or by donating much needed non-perishable food and other items. (A drop-off box in the Discovery Class awaits your donation!) Monetary donations are also welcomed. 

Missing the College Students - College Care Team: We keep in touch with our college students, and remember them at different times throughout the year. Fun care packages with all sorts of snacks are sent during exam week. 

Samaritan House: We provide meals once per quarter.  (In the recent past, monetary donations have been made due to COVID restrictions. We hope to be back to in-person service soon.)

Boy Scout Troop 232: Enjoy learning about our local scouting troop.  We support the local troop in a variety of ways.

Jackson Feild Homes: Serve with us in missions with the youth of our community, engaging in programs, gathering materials and goods, and interacting with these youth.
